The Adachi Project
The Adachi Project is a first-of-its kind storytelling initiative aimed at illuminating powerful stories and unseen perspectives of the U.S. criminal legal system via compelling documentary film, video, and photojournalism. The Project was created to honor the legacy of the late Jeff Adachi, San Francisco’s Public Defender from 2003 to 2019, and his unrelenting effort to spotlight the human impact on “justice” on our communities, as both an attorney and an award-winning documentary filmmaker. It launched on February 4, 2021 with approval by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
