MAGIC
MAGIC (Mobilization for Adolescent Growth in our Communities) is a collaborative of community-based youth and family agencies working together to create a support network for disadvantaged youth.
Initiated by the Public Defender’s office in 2004, Bayview MAGIC meets twice a month to facilitate, coordinate and network community resources and opportunities that support service providers and community members in Bayview-Hunter’s Point.
In 2006, due to the success of Bayview MAGIC, Mo’ MAGIC was introduced to the Western Addition at the request of Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi.
Together Bayview MAGIC and Mo’ MAGIC provide valuable community programs each year, including backpack giveaways, art shows, field day events at Golden Gate Park, and a Black-and-White Ball for families.
